Nancy
Nancy is the Head Teacher of Dalmarnock Primary School for the past 9 years. During this time she has seen the area change beyond recognition and the school double in size to over 400 children. There are now 46 different mother tongues spoken in school. The universal language of children is play so she has been delighted to become involved with PEEK through their support at breakfast club, lunch club, A Community In Motion, Family meal/Homework club and most recently at summer club. This has helped the school become inclusive and has increased parental engagement in all aspects of school life. “PEEK brighten up our school in all sorts of ways – their cheery smiles, the bright red sweatshirts, the chalk in the yard – it’s hard to imagine school without them. When asked to join the board I jumped at the opportunity to give something back to this amazing group who give so much to our community”.
