84,760 meals to children and families in Glasgow this summer
With fears over more Covid-19 restrictions affecting our summer plans, PEEK was unaware if summer was going to go ahead at all.
A week before our summer programme was scheduled to start our sign up went out. We received over 300 registrations for our 3 Holiday Programmes and Create Programmes.
Participants were selected and timetables sorted, it was time to start our summer. This was the summer we all needed, to come together and PLAY, CREATE and THRIVE.
PEEK ran a total of 3 Holiday Programmes and 10 Street Play sessions every week. That included our Family Holiday Programme at St Stephen’s and St Kevin’s Primary School, St Anne’s Family Summer Programme, Youth Holiday Programme, Create Musical Week, and PEEKaboo Play Café sessions.
PEEK is forever grateful to the outstanding organisations that support us year in year out. Thank you to the BCLC (Bridgeton Community Learning Centre) for allowing us to rent and take over your premises. With our offices being used as a Covid-19 test centre we didn’t have a secure home to bring our children and young people to.
84,760 meals were distributed to children and families across Glasgow, this couldn’t be done without the support of our partners and funders, such as Glasgow City Council.
Thanks to our long-term partner Dockyard Social who provided 1520 meals to our communities.
A Special thank you to the following organisations and businesses who have supported PEEK over the last 6 weeks.
