PEEK Welcomes Nancy Clunie as Acting CEO
We’re delighted to announce that PEEK’s CEO, Michaela Collins, will soon be going on maternity leave, commencing Monday, November 25th. During this time, we’re pleased to welcome Nancy Clunie as our Acting CEO. Nancy will temporarily step down from her role as a Director on PEEK’s Board of Trustees – a position she’s held for over a decade – to lead PEEK until Michaela’s return on September 1st, 2025.
We would like to sincerely thank Michaela for her steadfast stewardship over the past five years. Her tenure has guided the organisation through significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, while also spearheading remarkable progress – doubling our income, expanding our team to 26 full-time staff members, and launching our 21 Year Impact Report. Michaela’s hard work has also been instrumental in the success of our Wellbeing Programme, Winter Warmer appeal, and the launch of our ‘PEEK-A-CHEW’ food truck, which brings healthy meals to children and families across Glasgow.
Michaela’s involvement with PEEK began over 24 years ago, first as a young participant in our programmes, then as a volunteer, apprentice, and ultimately as CEO. As she prepares to step back, she shares:
“I have full confidence in Nancy to deliver on PEEK’s priorities, ensuring continuity and a safe, supportive environment for our children, young people and families and our partners. We’ve some exciting developments lined up, including our upcoming website and logo rebrand, so keep an eye out! And, of course, we’ll also be celebrating PEEK’s 25th birthday in 2025!
Nancy is uniquely qualified to assume the role of Acting CEO. Formerly a headteacher, Nancy joined the PEEK Board in 2014 having witnessed PEEK’s impactful work as a community partner of Dalmarnock Primary School. She remains a familiar face to the families we serve, and following her retirement in April, she’s ready to fully commit her energy to PEEK and our mission of building brighter futures for children and families.
All of us at PEEK wish Michaela all the best for her maternity leave and extend a warm welcome to Nancy as she steps into her new role. We’re excited for what the next 10 months will bring and look forward to continuing our mission under Nancy’s leadership.
